Dr. David Retz has forty years of experience in the areas of systems programming, operating systems development, real-time systems development, teaching, network management, and (more recently) web development.

His career started as a scientific applications programmer of mainframe computers in the mid-60's, and in the latter portion of that decade became involved in systems programming one of the first "time-sharing" systems for the IBM 360. In 1969, he was responsible for development of protocols and software to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency's ARPANET at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB); the ARPANET grew and formed the foundation for the current Internet.

During the periods of 1972-1974, 1999-2002, and 2004-2005, Dr. Retz created and taught courses for the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and California State Polytechnic College (Cal Poly) in the areas of digital systems, digital logic design, 'C' programming, assembler
programming and system architecture.

In 2004, Dr. Retz led the transition of the company to web-development and e-commerce, creating
an online news and information site for the local community called Santa Ynez Valley Online
(syv-online.com). The web development department of the company has been responsible for the implementation of a variety of corporate websites for local companies, as well as the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association and the Santa Ynez Valley Association of Realtors.
